My most recent creative endeavor is a collection of poems inspired by Taylor Swift’s folklore album. Although I ran out of officially published pieces to share, I do often share some work on Instagram. And I’ve had fun reviewing my poetry on my Behind the Poems series, so I thought I’d start sharing these here.
When the album first came out, I listened to it over and over again. I became enamored with the way it seemed to tell a non-linear story. It felt like it lent itself perfectly to poetry, so I decided to embark on this creative writing journey.
I’m excited to revisit these pieces I’ve worked on over the last couple of years. I think it will be interesting to remember the inspiration behind each piece and how I excavated my own stories out of each track from folklore.
